Referral Criteria​
To ensure that we are able to serve those most in need, the following criteria must be met for clients to be referred to From Hearts 2 Home Carolinas LLC:
Client’s Recent Transition from Homelessness

The client should have recently moved into permanent housing (within the last 90 days).

The client must already be living in their new home — they cannot be in the process of getting a home (i.e., they must already have keys).
Vetting and Verification by Referring Organization

The referring organization must confirm that the client is recently housed and in need of furnishings.

The organization must vouch for the client, ensuring they are a good fit for the program and have a stable housing situation that supports home setup.
Client Must Be Able to Pick Out Furniture

Clients should be able to travel to H2H’s facility if they wish to choose their own furniture.

They should be prepared to spend at least 2 hours at the facility. We kindly ask that no children accompany them during the appointment.

Transportation options should be confirmed before referral to ensure they can reach the facility.
Client Must Be Located in Gaston County

The client’s current home must be located within Gaston County.

We are not currently serving surrounding counties.
Rules and Limitations
One Referral per Client

Clients are eligible for only one appointment to prevent misuse of the program.
Organization Referral Required

Clients must be referred by an approved organization.

Referrals through word of mouth or from other clients are not accepted.
Furniture Availability

Items are subject to availability. Not all furnishings may be in stock at the time of the client’s appointment.
Furniture Delivery

After selection, H2H will deliver furniture to the client’s home for a $200 delivery fee, payable by the client or referring organization.

Clients may opt to pick up their own furniture, but it must be done in a single visit. A full-size U-Haul is typically required.
No Resale of Items

All furniture is for personal use only and cannot be resold or redistributed.
Condition of Items

All items provided are gently used. Clients should understand furniture is offered as available and as is.
Respect for the Facility

Clients must follow facility policies, including showing respect to staff and other clients during the selection process.
